Richard Hooper delivers the Charles Clark Memorial Lecture at the London Book Fair 2013

The Chair of the CHLG and author of the
Copyright Works report, Richard Hooper CBE, delivered the annual Charles Clark Memorial lecture at the London Book Fair in Earl's Court. In it he spoke of the challenges publishers and other creative sectors face in ensuring their copyright licensing processes are fit for the digital age and how these challenges could possibly be met by the development of the Copyright Hub.

From idea to reality: the Copyright Hub takes shape

The Government has agreed funding to enable the creative sector to embark on phase 1 of developing the Copyright Hub.

With Government finance in place the first phase of the Copyright Hub will go live this summer.

Government gives £150,000 to kick-start copyright Hub

25th March

Intellectual Property Minister Lord Younger announces £150,000 of funding for the creation of the Copyright Hub. Lord Younger said '
The Copyright Hub will simplfy Copyright licensing for customers and I am delighted to announce this funding to enable industry to begin their work.'

Copyright Hub presented to the European Commission

CHLG member Dr Ros Lynch gave a presentation on the Copyright Hub to the User Generated Content and Small Users working group of the Licences for Europe initiative.
